Simple exercise to help in Asthma!
Asthma symptoms can vary from mild to severe and often include:
1. Shortness of Breath
Difficulty breathing, especially during physical activities, can be a key symptom of asthma. This may become more pronounced with exertion or exposure to asthma triggers.
2. Wheezing
A high-pitched whistling sound while exhaling, wheezing is a common symptom and often indicates narrowed airways. This may be more noticeable at night or early in the morning.
3. Chest Tightness
People with asthma often feel a sensation of tightness or pressure in the chest, which can make it feel hard to breathe.
4. Coughing
Persistent coughing, particularly at night, early morning, or after exercise, is common in asthma. The cough may be dry or produce mucus.
5. Increased Mucus Production
The airways can produce extra mucus during an asthma flare-up, which can further narrow the airways and worsen breathing problems.
6. Difficulty Sleeping
Due to symptoms like coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath, people with asthma may have trouble sleeping, particularly if symptoms worsen at night.
7. Fatigue
Asthma can lead to exhaustion, either from disrupted sleep or from the extra effort needed to breathe. Chronic fatigue can also develop in cases of poorly controlled asthma.
8. Symptoms Triggered by Exercise or Allergies
Some people experience "exercise-induced asthma," where symptoms occur or worsen during physical activity. Others have allergic asthma, with symptoms triggered by allergens such as pollen, dust, or pet dander.
9. Asthma Attack
In severe cases, asthma symptoms may escalate into a full-blown asthma attack, marked by severe difficulty breathing, chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing. In such cases, immediate medical attention is required.
If you experience any of these symptoms regularly or they interfere with your daily life, it’s a good idea to consult a healthcare provider. Proper management and an asthma action plan can help control symptoms and prevent asthma attacks.
There is a simple exercise which the patient can follow regularly without disturbing the regular treatment:
Deep breathing for 10-minutes
Rubbing both palms for 1-minute till it gets warmer - 4-5 times in a session, Morning, afternoon & evening, daily. (Patients with wheezing in the chest following ‘palm-rubbing exercise’ have reported “Positive results” within 15-20 days.
